Resuscitation Outcome Consortium

EPAB and MedStar are embarking on several research projects.  We are teaming up with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas for the ROC trials.  They consist of several ongoing trials throughout the consortium.

  1. Epidemiologic Registry (Epistry)

  2. Hypertonic Saline for Acute Traumatic Shock and Traumatic Brain Injury

  3. Impedance Threshold Device (ITD) in cardiac arrest

  4. Early versus Late Defibrillation

You may visit their website for further information. The EPAB system comprised of MedStar Ambulance and the EPAB First Responder Organizations are participating in these studies.  All studies are EMS studies only and will stop at the entrance to the Emergency Room.  In the hospital care is continued and outcome data is tracked. MedStar providers can follow this link for more information about enrollment progress, review criteria, FAQ's, and much more.
